Afton reports 58 per cent gain
BURLINGTON — Restaurant operator Afton Food Group Ltd. has reported fiscal year net income of $1.9 million, a 58-per-cent gain over the $1.2 million for the same period in 1998.
The South Service Road firm's year-over-year revenues rose 32 per cent. Afton has acquired Robin's Foods Inc., the parent franchisor behind a 244-location Thunder Bay doughnut chain mostly in Western Canada.
President Robert Macdonald said Afton anticipates its revenue will triple through the acquisition, scheduled to close at the end of the week.
