Porn franchise scam
You know that saying about if something sounds too good to be true…? About 100 investors were recently fleeced of several thousand dollars each by Toronto con artists offering a chance to buy into an Internet pornography franchise. The porn site scheme allegedly guaranteed investors big earnings that would come from customers willing to pay for the racy on-line photos. The promoters were to provide all the pictures, including a free supply for investors. Police suggest the images were just copied from other Web sites. Obviously these would-be Web entrepreneurs weren’t listening when their dads passed out that pertinent nugget of wisdom.
